6 weeks old

Our dear girl Tessa is experiencing lots of firsts!

in the last week or so Tess took her first road trip. We ventured to no other than to see Poppy and Omi. Tess did great in the car on the way there and back and had a great time.

some of her favorite highlights include:
spending time meeting and getting to know the O'neils, (we missed you Katy)
playing with Omi and Poppy
meeting G.G. (great grandma) and Grandad

her first trip to the pool... she didnt get in, but she did participate in a smidge of sun bathing :)

avoiding Elroy (we are working on that)
and doing a good amount of crying (6th week growth spurt perhaps?)

Tess has been rolling over from tummy to back for the last couple weeks. She does it quickly and frequently now! Tess is very strong, can hold her head up for long period of time, and... well, I think she will be running laps around her mama soon. (yikes)

our first Easter was spent going to our church's special service on the waterfront in downtown Stockton, and then going over to some friends for a neighborhood, bible study, family luncheon. The day was so busy we didnt even get a family picture, which makes me very sad! I did get one of Tess on the way to our Easter lunch.

1 month old

some things I want to remember about Tess before I forget.

at one month of age....

she almost always has her legs crossed
she almost always has her hands folded under her chin like a praying school girl
or has her hands on her face in anyway
she hates getting her diapered changed! (cries every time)
she loves bath time (I have mentioned this one before)
she loves to suck on her hands and fingers (straight out of the womb she did this)
swaddling her is the best thing that ever happened to us
she passes gas like a grown fat man
normal night time includes a five hour stretch and then a four hour stretch
her favorite toy is her yellow cloth ducky that makes crinkle noises

she is currently weighing in at 8 pounds 2 ounces.
she smiled yesterday for the camera, but I'm pretty sure it was an accident.

ok that is it for now... no pictures today. working on getting pictures of what was mentioned above, minus the part about Tessa's horrific gas!

Three weeks!

This past week has been a great one! Tess is truly getting the hang of night time, and we love her very much for it! last night she slept from 10-4 and then back to sleepy she went from 4:30-7:30.

Tess has been making TONS of funny expressions lately. Like 1,000 a day. she always has a funny or adorable look on her face!! I really think she is going to be a silly girl!

She continues to make lots of noise too. her favorite noises to make are.... gurgles, the sound of a bus breaking, and walrus noises when her pacifier is in.

her belly is growing nice and big, but her little body is still VERY peanut sized. (she kinds looks like a bull frog with her new little belly)

she is also becoming much more aware of the people around her, or holding her. she sees us!!

picture time!

here is one I dug up of joey as a three week old-ish baby..... does Tessie look like him?

and Finally, one of my Favorite pictures of dad and daughter ready for the season....we are very excited for the season! onsie and headband compliments of numero uno Giants fan Emily! :) Enjoy!

*picture placement is strange, still working on it!*

2 week stats

Tess is already two weeks old.. which seems weird to me. I think because the last two week have felt SO LONG it makes me feel as though she has been around longer.
(waiting the for Doctor).
Tess went to the Dr yesterday for her two week check up. Here is what we learned.
Height- 20 3/4 inches (she has grown almost an inch)
Weight- 7.53 (operation get Tessa fat is currently underway)
Head size- 14 inches

Here is what I have learned about Tessa Love in these two weeks
she really doesn't cry unless she is hungry, tired, needs to burp, or has a dirty diaper
she likes baths, (tends to fall asleep in bath because she is so relaxed)
She loves the sound of her dad's voice (will practically whip her head in any direction she heres him talking)
She is getting really good at sleeping! A typical night these days consists of her "last" feeding at midnight, and then she will sleep until four or five in the morning, eat again, and then sleep until nine.

I am totally ok with this sleep pattern. Keep it up Tessa, and I will give you extra snuggles as a reward.
and lastly..... sometimes Tessa resembles the angry Sicilian Vizzini from the Movie Princess Bride.... you all know who I am talking about.
compare shall we??

Uncanny right??? ;)

getting ready part 2

I have been trying to motivate myself for weeks now to pack those pesky hospital bags for the big arrival. well, yesterday the diaper bag came in the mail, and I suppose that motivated me a smidge more to pack pack pack!

here is what we've got so far...
all baby's stuff, boy and girl outfits to plan accordingly
sweats, robe, slippers, all other necessary and un-necessary clothing items
camera
flip
towels
pillows

what we still need amid the hospy loot:
snacks,
phones
computer
and of course EMILY..... the most important item packed and ready to go in SF.

getting ready!

so the last couple of months have been filled with baby prep.... and when I say filled I really mean, once every three weeks we would kinda work on stuff..... and when I say we, I really mean Joey. I would just stand around and bark orders..... hehee.

these pictures are of Charlie. Apparently putting up crown molding takes much more work than you would ever anticipate. like having to move air vents in the ceiling! shheeesh.
Anyways, this is the final-ish product.
